Nearly every website on the internet is under daily attack by hackers. Most of the attempts do not get in further than the "front door" of the site, because of counter measures such as the ones that can be found on our website. Regrettably, a "back door" was found in the software we are using. With this back door, the counter measures could easily be avoided. As soon as this became known, hackers started to use the back door. Estimates are hard to find, but some sources say that between 10 to 50% of all websites using the same software have been hacked.
Reason for our provider to completely block the website, until the site was safe again. As a reassurance; no traces were found that the site has actually been hacked. Of course, the site will be monitored intensively the coming time.
